Special guests for June 30th will be the Whitewater Bluegrass Band! 
The Whitewater Bluegrass Band will be playing both old and new bluegrass favorites, bluegrass gospel and some hilarious bluegrass renditions. The band performs at coffee houses, wineries, state parks and churches.
The Whitewater Bluegrass Band of Missouri is formed of members from the local area. Band members are: George Dickerson, Rodney Eftink, Dan Reno, Shawn Asmus and Kevin Sigman. They have performed at many local events including Sam A. Baker and Trail of Tears state parks, Bollinger Mill historical site, and the East Perry County Fair.
The audience is encouraged to bring their picnic snacks (no glass containers) along with lawn chairs and blankets for seating. As always, all Jackson Municipal Band concerts are free of charge. So, come on out this Thursday, June 30 at 7:00 pm for an evening of great summer musical entertainment with the Whitewater Bluegrass Band and the Jackson Municipal Band at the Nick Leist Memorial Band Shell. The entrance is located on Route D/Independence Street across from McCombs Funeral

It’s gonna be a warm one at the Band Shell tonight!  We are here to play for you!  See you at 7!
The June 16 concert featured guest artist will be Delanie Taylor.  Delanie is originally from Southeast Missouri and now calls Jonesboro, Arkansas her home.  Delanie will play a variety of music, from original tunes to covering some top artists.  She travels extensively performing in many different venues throughout the United States. 
Join us in the park for great music at 7 pm!  The Jackson Municipal Band will perform a variety of selections that will include overtures, marches, Broadway hits, popular tunes and maybe some Rock and Roll.  So, please come on out this Thursday, June 16 and listen to the Jackson Municipal Band along with special guest artist, Delanie Taylor.  You can bring along your picnic snacks and drinks (no glass containers, please) and enjoy some great summer musical entertainment. 
The entrance to the Nick Leist Memorial Band Shell is located across from McCombs Funeral Home on Route D, Independence St and as always, the concerts are free.

Our Special Guest for Thursday evening’s concert is Jesse Ritter! 
Jesse grew up in Southeast Missouri, went to college in Nashville, toured the world singing on cruise ships, and eventually landed on the Emerald Coast in Florida. She calls both Pensacola and Nashville home. Jesse has won some cool awards and perform with some of her heroes. She feels very blessed to be able to pour life into music and the other things she loves: family, traveling in their RV, spending as much time outside as possible, hearing and telling stories. Jesse seeks sunshine and a simple life.   Come join us as we welcome Jesse to Jackson and the Muny Band Concert!  7:00 pm Thursday at the Band Shell!
Almost ready for the concert this morning!  Come join us!  9:00 am old Courthouse in Jackson.
The Memorial Day concert by the Jackson Municipal Band in conjunction with American Legion Post 158 to commemorate those lost serving our country will be held Monday, May 30th beginning at 9:00 am.  Concert and program will be held in front of the old Courthouse in Jackson.  Please join us to remember those who served America and gave the ultimate sacrifice.

The dates for the 2022 concert season are set!  We start out with the Memorial Day concert, Monday, May 30th, 9 am at the old Jackson Courthouse. 
The first concert in the park at the bandshell will be Thursday, June 2, 7 pm with Jesse Ritter as our special guest.  Stay tuned for a listing of all the concert dates and special guests!

Special guests for this week’s concert are Steel Blossoms from Nashville, TN!  Sara and Hayley write music together and perform songs about real life and real challenges and the people they’ve meet along the way.  Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and join us at 7:00 pm Thursday evening!

Last night’s special event!  A proclamation from Jackson’s Mayor Dwayne Hahs to Muny Board President David Thompson for 100 years of music in the city of Jackson!
Join us Thursday evening for some great entertainment!
It’s a little steamy in the park tonight for the 4th of July concert!  But how else would we be assured we are in Missouri!  7:00 - 8:00 pm Shades of Soul then the Muny Band will play from 8 to about 9:15!  💥 Fireworks start about 9:30!  Free concert!  Join us with a blanket or lawn chairs!  Be sure you bring beverages to keep you cool!

UPDATE!!  We are planning for the first concert In the Park to be Thursday, June 11th at 7 pm.  Of course we will ask concert goers to maintain “social distancing” which the band will also be doing!

Ready to begin the 2019 Concert season!  Perfect weather for an early morning concert!

Only 14 days until the Johnny Holzum Band, The Well Hungarians will be at the Jackson Band Shell!
It’s a great evening for a band concert and special guest Doug E Rees!  Come on out to the Band Shell!  2nd to last concert for the season tonight!!
We had some special guests at tonight’s concert!  These folks are daughter Ruth and great-grandchildren of one of the founding members of the Jackson Municipal Band, Paul Bruening who played with the band for 60 plus years!  Great to have you at the concert!
We will be back in the park tonight!  Another great evening of music at the Band Shell!  Yes it will be warm, but Simply Swirled will be joining us too!

Thursday night, June 7th will be the first concert of the summer at the Band Shell.  Come out and join us at 7:00 p.m.  Special guests Trevor Finlay and Jen Friend will open the concert with about 30 minutes of music and then turn it over to the Muny Band to play.  God of Our Fathers, Man of LaMancha, On a Hymnsong, Washington Post March, The Big Cage March and many more for you to enjoy!  Bring your lawn chairs or a blanket and spend the evening in the park with us!  The Band Shell is located off Route D/Independence Street in Jackson.
Merry Christmas from the Jackson Muny Band!  Enjoy your holidays and remember, only 6 months until concerts start again!
We will do our best to get these guys back again next year!  Great afternoon, great music, love the Well Hungarians and Johnny Holzum!!!
Special thanks to the Jackson Fire Department for being at the concert this afternoon!  Appreciate you entertaining the kids and being here in case you were needed!
This weeks featured member is Steve Meier. Steve is a trombone player in the Jackson Municipal Band and this will be his 50th year playing with us. He plays in the band because he has a passion for music and being in a group that feels the same way. As far as his musical history goes he was in the Golden Eagles during his time at Southeast Missouri State University and he used to be a band director. Steve is currently a Christmas tree farmer after his time as a postmaster, but in his spare time he loves to woodwork and reenact historical events. He is very proud of how the band has developed over the many years that he has been a part of our band.
Tonight's concert is a real treat!  Come join us for Mark Rees at 7!  The Muny band's selections will include: Light of My Soul (a hymn fantasy based on the church hymn Beautiful Savior) by David Gillingham,  Nearer My God To Thee by Lowell Mason arranged by Thomas Trimborn; Highlights from Beauty And The Beast by Alan Menken arranged by John Moss;  Diamond Jim March by Everett Maxwell; Music from How To Train Your Dragon by John Powell arranged by Sean O'Loughlin; Pirates Of The Caribbean by Klaus Badelt arranged by Ted Ricketts; Beer Barrel Polka by Lew Brown!  Great music, remember this is the last band concert of the year, where did the summer go?
This weeks featured member is Steven Sebaugh. Steven is a trumpet player in the Jackson Municipal Band and this will be his 35th year playing with us. He plays in the band to satisfy his passion for the trumpet because he feels that he could never achieve his goal of becoming a professional trumpet player. As far as his musical history goes he has had 6 years of experience from the Jackson School's Band Program, and whilst he was there he was in every band group that he could be in. Steven is currently a Quality Manager at Buzzi Unicem USA, but in his spare time he loves to play, collect, and restore vintage trumpets, and he is also into antiques and old cars.

This weeks featured member is Brian Martin. Brian is a trumpet player in the Jackson Municipal Band and this will be his 3rd year playing with us. He is in the Municipal Band because it allows him to fulfill his passion of playing music with his trumpet. As far as his musical history goes he has had 6 years of experience from the Jackson School's Band Program, and whilst he was there he was in every band group that he could be in. Brian has also had experience from his time at Southeast Missouri State University, where he was practically in every band group there as well. In his spare time he loves to compose music.
